It's from 1-3 p.m. Monday March 28th til Fri April 1st. Games, stories, fun stuff :)..

Sex Eds for parents of teens/tweens...

Hello friends,

There is a presentation at the Hinton Centre tomorrow evening for parents of tweens and teens on how to talk to your kids about sexual decision making, cultural influences and the realities of sexual activity in 2011.  The presenter is a lady from Edmonton who is the Community Education Coordinator for the Edmonton Pregnancy Care Centre.  Thought you might be interested...

Library fun for homeschoolers!

Hey homeschoolers!

A couple of things coming up that might interest you (details to follow)

April 19th (Tuesday) we have an author coming to the library and she will be doing readings - her books are fun nonfiction (about animals)

If we'd like to book in as a group - i saw the books and they look like my boys would really like  them...

AND ALSO

Spring break - are you staying home?  Or travelling?

If you are at home, Pam is hard at work on a spring break program that sounds like a lot of fun - it would be nice to get together there as a group :)

Just a couple of things to keep in mind as we slowly endure the wrong side of winter (the "Christmas is not coming for another year" side...)

Holocaust Survivor, Dr. Eva Olsson

I am planning to take advantage of the invitation sent out by YRAF - Dr. Eva Olsson will be speaking at St. Gregory at 12:30 on October 21.

I hope to see some other homeschool moms and children there, too!

This was one of my major reading points as a preteen, and it still shapes my worldview, for good and for evil.  It made me realize how bad humankind can get, and how brave and good, also.  It also made me an unreasonable, passionate friend of the Jewish people in general and Israel in particular.

I can't wait to hear what she has to say!

Registration Fair?

Hi Homeschoolers!

I'm wondering if anyone is interested in manning a table at the Hinton Registration Fair?  Might be nice to have information there for other people and possibly connect with other homeschoolers who aren't on our radar?  If you're interested, let me know!

Swimming Lessons?

If you haven't emailed/phoned about swimming lessons, please call Stephanie at 817-5542 - we are trying to combine our lessons with another group to save money and make the cost roughly 3.67/child/lesson.
